The total net worth of each individual on the list is estimated, in United States dollars, based on their assets and accounting for debt. 2006 Billionaires
Bill Gates returns as the world’s richest person for the 12th year in a row.
Ireland has four people in the list, John Dorrance III (292), Sean Quinn (292), Anthony O’Reilly (562) and Dermot Desmond (746).
Canadian playboy Calvin Ayre went down to Costa Rica a decade ago and began taking illegal bets over the Internet.

Mr Haruka Nishimatsu is the
President and CEO of Japan Airlines (JAL).
Interview by: Japan Airlines
He was born in 1948 in Hamamatsu Shizuoka Prefecture. He joined Japan Airlines in 1972 where he served in the corporate planning department. After a spell overseas in JAL’s city and airport offices in Frankfurt, he returned to Japan to work in the finance department.
In 2003, Mr. Nishimatsu was appointed as an executive officer in charge of finance and investor relations. In 2005 he was appointed to the airline’s board of directors. A year later he was promoted to the position of President and CEO of the JAL Group.

Possibly one of the most motivating speeches
In 1950's America, the equality of man envisioned by the Declaration of Independence was far from a reality. People of colour — blacks, Hispanics, Orientals — were discriminated against in many ways, both overt and covert. The 1950's were a turbulent time in America, when racial barriers began to come down due to Supreme Court decisions, like Brown v. Board of Education; and due to an increase in the activism of blacks, fighting for equal rights.

Inventors think differently to the rest of us. George Bernard Shaw and Robert Kennedy said You see things as they are and ask, "Why?" I dream things as they never were and ask, "Why not?"
The Japanese use the word ‘kaizan’, which refers to continuous improvement and Thomas Edison said “there is always a better way”.

Chief Tecumseh of the Shawnee Indians
Chief Tecumseh placed a curse on the American presidency during the War of 1812. While Chief Tecumseh died fighting for the Canadians against the Americans, he placed a curse on every American president elected in a year that ended in a zero. The curse said that they would die during his presidency.
